FAQ
From SuperDelegates.org - Information about the 2008 DNC Superdelegates
This wiki should capture a couple basic pieces of information:
- which candidate the delegate has endorsed
- where the delegate is located (city and state only, we don't want home addresses)
- who the delegate is (basic profile info - occupation, party history, etc.)
Optional information: if a video or web link is available supporting the endorsement, feel free to provide that.
- If you're not familiar with editing on a MediaWiki website, you might want to check out the Wiki Quick Start page created for the MythTV Wiki.
Location info is key: in order to have your delegate show up in the Google Earth layer, you need to add the delegate's latitude and longitude. To get that info, go here (or: state lat/long pairs are here, many large cities are here, and a zip code conversion tool is here), then use the following format:
{{Endorsed Barack Obama|Latitude|Longitude}}
{{Endorsed Hillary Clinton|Latitude|Longitude}}
{{Uncommitted|Latitude|Longitude}})
This format will auto-categorize the delegate, and will add the geo-location data for plotting in Google Earth. (Note: when you save the page, you will not see the latitude and longitude data; it's hidden in the page.)
Additionally, you can place the delegates into categories indicating their state as well as their delegate type:
[[Category:Illinois]] [[Category:DNC Member]] [[Category:Governors]]
This will make it easier to navigate the wiki by location as well as by type of delegate.
For examples of delegate pages with info that we want to capture, see Mike Beebe, Eliot Spitzer, John Kerry, or Ted Kennedy.
